Winkburn Solar Farm
The Winkburn Solar Farm is a 50.5MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) development located near Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Construction works were undertaken by Sunel, with Solarstyle Distributions Ltd (SSD) engaged to deliver specialist civil and infrastructure works associated with the project’s power station and electrical infrastructure package.
The site was designed not only to generate clean energy for thousands of homes, but also to maintain environmental sensitivity through biodiversity enhancement, continued agricultural use, and carefully planned visual screening measures.

The Problem/Challenge
The delivery of the PST and associated concrete infrastructure works presented several technical and logistical challenges requiring careful planning and coordination.
Programme-Critical Infrastructure
The power station foundations sat directly on the project’s critical path. Delays to the completion of these structures would have impacted:

Ground & Weather Conditions

Installation of foundation duct interfaces and service penetrations
